Calculators & results

Which calculators are free?

Tile & Flooring, Paint, and Concrete are free with up to 2 saved projects. Pro unlocks Framing & Lumber, Drywall, Decking, Fencing, Mulch & Gravel, and Wallpaper — plus unlimited saves, PDF exports, live preview, and cost estimator.

How does the waste factor work?

Every calculator includes an adjustable waste factor from 0% to 25%. It adds extra material to account for cuts, breakage, and pattern matching. Set a default in Settings — it applies to all new calculations until you override.

Can I get a cost estimate?

Yes. Enter a price-per-unit in any calculator and Material Calculator Pro returns the dollar total alongside the quantity. The itemized breakdown shows base quantity, waste buffer, and cost separately so you can hand it to a supplier or client.

Does the concrete calc handle footings?

Yes. The Concrete calculator supports slabs, footings, and columns. It returns cubic yards, ready-mix volume, 60lb and 80lb bag counts, and rebar spacing if you toggle reinforcement on.

Saving & exporting

How do I save a project?

On the results screen, tap Save to Projects and name it. Saved projects live under the Projects tab. Free tier saves up to 2 at a time; Pro is unlimited.

How do I export a project as PDF?

Open a saved project and tap the share/export button. Pro generates a formatted PDF that includes the project name, all input dimensions, material breakdown, and cost estimate — ready for a supplier or subcontractor.

Can I reuse a project for the next bid?

Yes. Open a saved project, tap Duplicate, edit the dimensions for the new job, and save under a new name. The waste factor and cost-per-unit carry over.

What happens if I delete the app?

Your saved projects are stored locally on your device, so deleting the app removes them. There is no cloud sync. If you plan to switch phones, export your projects as PDFs first or transfer them via your iCloud backup.

Units & settings

Imperial or metric?

Switch in Settings — the whole app follows. Default is Imperial. Metric units convert cleanly across every calculator (cubic yards ↔ cubic meters, sq ft ↔ sq m, etc.).

How do I change the default waste factor?

Settings → Calculation Settings → Default Waste Factor. Slide between 0% and 25%. The default applies to every new calculation but you can override per-project.

Does the app work offline?

Yes. All calculations and saved projects work offline. The only thing that needs internet is StoreKit verifying your Pro subscription on first launch.

Light, dark, or system?

Settings → Appearance. Defaults to System (follows iOS). Pick Light or Dark explicitly if you prefer one for jobsite use.

Subscription & restore

How much does Pro cost?

Two options shown in-app at purchase — monthly or yearly (yearly is the better value). Pricing shown at the time of purchase is authoritative for your region.

How do I cancel?

Open Settings on your device → tap your name at the top → Subscriptions → Material Calculator Pro → Cancel. You can also tap Manage Subscription inside the app.

How do I restore on a new device?

On the paywall, tap Restore Purchases. You must be signed in with the same Apple ID that originally subscribed.

How do I get a refund?

All purchases go through Apple. Refund requests must be submitted at reportaproblem.apple.com. We can’t process refunds directly.

Still stuck?
